James Chiusano

Partner and Co-Owner

Jim, a cum laude graduate of Princeton with a degree in Engineering and a focus in Architecture and Economics, joined the Chiusano Group of Companies in the 70’s.

As Vice President of Chiusano, Inc., Jim worked with the founder of the Chiusano companies, Jack Chiusano, until his death in 1999. Jim has been involved in more than 25 new home communities encompassing a variety of housing types from custom building to multi-family and apartments. The combination of extensive hands-on experience, educational background and attention to detail has made Jim an expert in all aspects of development, building and business management operations.

In 2000, Jim, along with his sister Barbara, founded C&C Development Company, L.L.C.

Jim has long had a personal commitment to Southern New Jersey. A member of the Rancocas Valley Regional High School Sports and VIP Halls of Fame, Jim has continued to live in the area where he and his wife have raised their seven children. This personal tie to the region has given him a better understanding of the neighborhoods of Southern New Jersey and the housing needs and priorities of its residents.

Barbara Chiusano

Partner and Co-Owner

With a degree in Business Administration and 10 years experience in the corporate world, Barbara joined the Chiusano Group of Companies in 1980. Chiusano was a family-owned company that built thousands of homes and apartments in the South Jersey area since the 1950’s. In 2000, along with her business partner and brother, she and Jim founded their own residential building company, C&C Development Company, L.L.C. continuing a family tradition in home building that began in the 1930’s.

Since first working with the Chiusano Group, Barbara has been involved with more than 19 new home communities ranging from custom homes, homes for first-time homebuyers, multi-family and apartments. Thirty-years of experience has given Barbara extensive knowledge in all facets of real estate and residential building including initial planning, construction, financing, property management, marketing strategies, customer relations and overall general business operations.

Barbara’s commitment to the building industry is evidenced by her extensive involvement in both the New Jersey Builder’s Association and the Builder’s League of South Jersey. An active member of both organizations, she is a life member of the New Jersey Builders Association’s Board of Directors and has twice served as President of the Builder’s League of South Jersey. Her long-term efforts have earned her such awards as NJBA’s Builder of the Year, Builder Hall of Fame and Builder Continuing Service Awards. She has also received the Distinguished Service and Builder Hall of Fame awards from the Builder’s League of South Jersey.

John Chiusano

Partner

Prior to joining Chiusano Homes, John earned his M.B.A. from The George Washington University School of Business, with a concentration in Real Estate and Urban Development and Finance. John also holds a B.A. in Economics and Business with a minor in Government and Law from Lafayette College.

While at GWU, John was awarded the Oliver T. Carr Scholarship in business administration and served as the executive vice-president of the Real Estate Investment and Development Organization. During this time, he worked at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta as an accounting consultant and as a graduate teaching assistant for the decision sciences department in statistics.

John discovered his passion for real estate and home building at a young age while working with Chiusano Homes. Through this experience, John was exposed to every aspect of the home-building process; from land development and construction to marketing and customer relations. 

John is a a Licensed New Jersey Real Estate Salesperson. He is also active with the Builder’s League of South Jersey where he is the President and serves on the Board of Directors.
